Introduction to Emergenetics

Since starting my communication business, I have had the pleasure of working with people from many different backgrounds with very different personalities and communication styles.

In order to effectively communicate with all of the different styles that are out there, I use a self-assessment tool called Emergenetics. Once an individual completes the online questionnaire, a profile is generated specifically for them, and that profile contains valuable information for the individual and for everyone who is working or communicating with them.

The Emergenetics profile was developed to measure how people think and behave distinctly. Without boxing people in, it places thinking and behavior into manageable, understandable attributes. Emergenetics provides a more defined way to view personality and thinking styles by rooting thinking in a quantifiable, brain-based format. Unlike any on the market, it is a clear-cut assessment that provides individual and team insights and stronger organizations and relationships. It enhances personal power, builds understanding, facilitates communication, and improves performance.

Emergenetics is rooted in the concept that who you are today is the emergence of your behavior, genetic makeup, and life experiences. It is built on four thinking attributes and three behavioral attributes that every person exhibits. It is a measurable, proven way to recognize and apply thinking and behavior patterns that people use regularly. These patterns were identified by reviewing research from a wide body of academic literature converging personality, psychology, and neuroscience. The results were then subject to a rigorous statistical analysis.

On a practical level, the Emergenetics profile represents a clear framework of seven easily recognizable and useful factors that apply to work, communication, and interpersonal relationships.

As you can see, three behavioral attributes (in purple) and four thinking attributes (blue/green/red/yellow) exist. This photo shows you the components of a profile and is not an actual profile, I will be sharing a sample profile with you in my next blog.

I look forward to sharing more with you about Emergenetics and will be publishing a blog over the next few months that will dive deeper into each of the profile’s components and how I have used this awesome tool within my business to get amazing results.
